Cordão de Ouro Atlanta is delighted to have the opportunity to host the 3rd Annual International Capoeira Conference.  This year, CDO Atlanta is very honored to welcome Mestre Suassuna (Reinaldo Ramos Suassuna) to our batizado.  In 1966, Mestre Suassuna founded Cordão de Ouro which has become an important worldwide name in capoeira.  To date, thousands of capoeiristas have been trained by Cordão de Ouro both in Brazil and abroad.  In addition to Mestre Suassuna, CDO Atlanta many other masters of capoeira from Brazil and the United States will attend the event.

At this event, participants will have the opportunity to train and play capoeira along with these masters from Brazil and the United States. The 3rd International Capoeira Conference and Educational Workshops will conclude with a community roda featuring capoeira masters from Brazil and across the United States.  The Masters and workshop participants will demonstrate various styles of capoeira play including Miudinho and the sequences of Mestre Bimba.  The event will also include demonstrations on the berimbau and pandeiro.  Members of Cordão de Ouro Atlanta will give performances of Maculelê, Dança do Fogo (a dance of fire) and Dança Guerrera (a warrior’s dance).  Finally, during the changing of the cords ceremony, the skills of the Atlanta students will be tested by the Masters, and students will receive cords representative of their skill level in the game.

Non-refundable registration costs after July 15:

Registration costs are $150 for the full weekend or $75 per day. Payments for the workshops can be made in cash on the day of the event. Registration costs include an event t-shirt as well as the ability to participate in workshops led by Capoeira Masters on Capoeira Angola, Capoeira Regional, Miudinho, Maculele, Puxada de Rede, Samba, Music and much more. Registration costs are non-refundable. We can also help to arrange local housing for you while you are in Atlanta. Email us to arrange for housing accomodations in advance.
